If you have kids running around while your PC is turned on, a good way to keep your system safe is with a key lock.
Kid-Key-Lock is a simple application you can run to lock specific keyboard or mouse commands, and choose a release password. Unlike some locks, this is actually safe from Ctrl-Alt-Delete, so even the technically minded toddler should be foiled by Kid-Key-Lock. When opened you can choose to lock all or some of the mouse buttons, and there is a slide button for keyboard locks, from no locking to all keys locks.
To unlock your system you have to type in a password you determined (this will work even when the keyboard is totally locked). Forgetting your password means you could be stuck with hitting the off switch and rebooting your machine, so beware!
Kid-Key-Lock sits in the system tray when activated, and really does its job well. We would never recommend leaving toddlers around active computers, but if you really have to then Kid-Key-Lock is worth a look. It also works with keyboard wandering pets!
